Teams began their search of several nearby retention ponds around the apartment complex but couldn’t find any trace of the boy.
Less than an hour before the child's body was found, Xavion’s mother JaRisa Young tearfully pleaded to the public to help bring her son home, KPRC reported.
"I'm trying to stay strong for my other two girls, but inside I'm dying," JaRisa pleaded during a KPRC interview. "I'm dying, and I need you all, please, just bring my baby home."
A vigil will be held for the Xavion Young on Tuesday at 6 p.m., near the pond. The family is asking the community to bring hangers because her son loved playing with them.
