Clara Harris Released From Texas Prison Friday Morning
The former Friendswood dentist, who followed her cheating husband and his mistress to a hotel before running over him, has been released.

HOUSTON, TX — A Friendswood dentist who followed her husband and his mistress to a hotel and ran over him in 2002 was released from prison Friday morning. Clara Harris spent the last 15 years behind bars for the death of her husband, and she was released from the Crane Unit in Gatesville, Texas, where family eagerly awaited her.
Clara Harris was sentenced to 20 years for manslaughter in the death of her husband, David Harris, a 44-year-old orthodontist.
"I'm glad she's getting out," said George Parnham, her former defense attorney "I wish it would have happened sooner."

Harris tracked down her husband and his mistress and ran over him with her Mercedes Benz at the Nassau Bay Hilton. Their teenage daughter, who was in Clara's car during the incident, testified against her mother during the trial.
The incident, which made national headlines, was later made into the movie 'Suburban Madness.'

Parnham said the parole was granted in November, and that he believes she'll adjust back into society quite well.
Andy Kahan, an advocate for the victims, said David Harris' family was surprised by the decision.
