"It was fun, and I decided I wanted to learn more," she said.

She took a jewelry making class in Friendswood and soon found herself in a creative frenzy with baubles and things scattered on the dining room table, which eventually shifted to a seldom used playroom.

Noworatzky would wear some of her own jewelry, and within a short time, her girlfriends began to take notice.

When they found out she was the talent and design behind her jewelry, her lady friends wanted to to buy her jewelry.

About that same time, she met Blackwell at local non-profit called Harvey Moms, and the two became partners.

"I knew she was smart and super kind and helpful," Noworatzky said.

Before long, Hattie Now Designs had an Instagram page and Facebook page, and within a year a website to take orders and streamline the process.

Blackwell, who was a microbiologist at NASA, said shifting gears into the business world was a bit of a challenge for her.

"There are a lot moving parts to a business," she said. "I don't come from a business background so I spent my time learning how to make websites, code websites and come up with marketing strategies, and things that were not in my wheelhouse."

Blackwell said the people who know their products have gotten used to going to their Facebook page or buying products at local pop-up events, and getting people to go to the website to buy Hattie Now jewelry has become the biggest challenge of late.

Part of the reason is, that people love Michelle and Hattie, and love the videos and the interactive relationship the two women seem to share in their videos, and many of their fans know them personally.

People tend to like Michelle and I as people, and they want to communicate with us and message us all the time," Noworatzky said.

Aside from their online presence, Hattie Now Designs has products in several boutiques in Kemah, Seabrook and other communities nearby.
