College of Mainland in Texas City Gets New Scholarship

TEXAS CITY, TX — College of the Mainland recently received a $1000,000 TG Charley Wootan grant. The money will be used to provide two-year scholarships to 15-20 male students.

Eligible students will receive up to $3,195 per year, the scholarships are earmarked for students participating in the school's Male Success Initiative, a pilot program designed to equip minority men with the tools necessary to achieve a certificate or a degree.

The financial support is designed to work in tandem with social and academic programs that are already in place at College of the Mainland, such as proactive advising and tutoring.
