Deer Park Calls On Animal Lovers To Help 'Clear The Shelter'
The Deer Park Animal Shelter will be taking part in the state-wide 'Clear the Shelters' campaign on Aug. 18

DEER PARK, TX – The Deer Park Animal Shelter is overcrowded and inviting potential pet owners to a Houston-wide “Clear the Shelter” campaign on Aug. 18 to adopt a dog or cat. The event, which is sponsored by Telemundo, is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The adoption fees to take home a pet will be waived, but new owners will have to prepay for spaying, neutering and rabies vaccines. Animal shelters all over the Houston area have been full to overflowing this year and many have waived adoption fees.
But one day each year, shelters all over Texas join together and invite animal lovers to consider adopting a dog or cat.

“We are so excited to once again take part in the ‘Clear the Shelter’ campaign,” Jeanna Hooker, Deer Park Animal Control Supervisor said in a statement. “During last year’s campaign, we saw an incredible 18 animals adopted out, and we’re hoping to connect even more animals with new homes this year.”
