Galveston Independent School District Calendar 2018-19: First Day

CLEAR LAKE, TX — The first day of school in Galveston Independent School District is August 27 — and whether you and the kids are looking forward to the new school year or are dreading the end of summer, you'll want to mark the date on your calendar ASAP. The Galveston Independent School District has released its 2018-2019 calendars for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences

• 11/28: Early Release

• 12/21: Early Release
• 12/24 - 12/31: No School (Winter Break)

January

• 1/1 - 1/7: No School (Winter Break)
• 1/21: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)

February

• 2/18: No School (Presidents' Day)

March

• 3/11 - 3/15: No School (Spring Break)
• 3/20: Early Release

April

• 4/19: No School (Good Friday)
• 4/24: Early Release

May

• 5/27: No School (Memorial Day)
• 5/30: Early Release/Last Day of School
