Galveston Wife-Beater Gets 18 Years in Prison
A Galveston man was sentenced to 18 years in prison for domestic violence.

Galveston, TX -- Brandon Demon Zeno -- yes, that is his real name -- was sentenced to 18 years in prison for beating and choking his girlfriend.
In October 2015, Zeno, 29, assaulted his girlfriend after she came from working the night shift at 1 a.m. Almost as soon she hit the door, Zeno was in her face.

He accused the woman of sleeping around. She told him to leave her apartment immediately, he said he wouldn't. He told her he'd leave after sun up. She was going to leave, started gathering her things. She picked up a stack of papers, Zeno set the top paper on fire.
The woman tried to put out the fire and accidentally hit Zeno. He choked her. When Zeno let her go she went over to a corner to sleep.

When the woman awoke Zeno was gone. A few hours later he returned, she knew he'd want to go to sleep. She poured bleach all over the bed. He beat her, repeatedly.
He kept hitting her even after she started to bleed. When she tried to leave, he stopped her. She was able to escape when he was distracted.
As she was walking to the bus stop to go to the hospital Zeno begged her not to leave. He told her he'd get in trouble if she went to the hospital. She went anyway.
When she got to the hospital the police were called, the assault reported and eight stitches put into a cut above her right eye. Zeno was charged with a felony, after it was determined that he had been previously convicted of assaulting the same victim.
