Hurricane Harvey: Clear Lake Town Hall Meeting Cancelled
Councilman Dave Martin cancelled town hall meetings for Kingwood and Clear Lake as residents recover from flooding.

CLEAR LAKE, TX — A town hall meeting that was planned for later this month in Clear Lake, has been cancelled untl further notice, according to an announcement from Houston City Councilman Dave Martin's office.
Martin announced Tuesday that he is cancelling the town hall meetings scheduled for later this month, due to the flooding in his district.

Both of those areas suffered severe flooding during a four day onslaught of rain from Hurricane Harvey that finally ended on Aug. 29.
Residents in Clear Lake endured coastal flooding as the storm moved inland at Rockport as well as flooding from bayous and rivers upstream, while residents in Kingwood were inundated with floodwaters from the San Jacinto River, and rising flood waters from area creeks.

Martin, who usually hosts biannual town hall meetings in his district, will reschedule those town hall meetings for another time.
