Johnson Space Center in Clear Lake Joins Secured Cities Conference
Johnson Space Center in Clear Lake will offer tours to participants of the Secured Cities Conference.

CLEAR LAKE, TX — Johnson Space Center will be offering a tour of its various facilities to participants of the Secured Cities conference, which will be held Nov. 15-17 in Houston.
Admittedly, since the JSC offers public tours almost everyday, conference attendees getting a tour hardly seems like a selling point. The JSC offers the ever popular tram tour that takes participants through mission control facilities — both operational and historic — and the Vehicle Mock-Up Facility in Building 9.

There is also the Level 9 Tour, a four-hour long complete VIP experience. For about $100 a person, 12 people will be led through many buildings of the facility — including astronaut training areas. The tour also includes an ongoing Q & A session with a highly qualified docent.
It's unclear how the Secured Cities tour will differ from the ones that JSC alread offers. Since Secured Cities is a conference and trade show specifically for urban security professionals from both the public and private sector, the JSC tour will probably focus less on things like the Rocket Park and more on things like defending NASA from cyber intrusion.
