Kemah Calls Off July 4th Parade After Heavy Rain

The annual fireworks show at the Kemah Boardwalk is still on tap tonight, but today's parade was called off because of the weather.

KEMAH, TX -- The scheduled Independence Day Parade in Kemah has been canceled after heavy rain moved into the Gulf Coast community Tuesday night.

The Kemah Police Department announced Wednesday that the 4th of July Parade scheduled for 9 a.m. has been canceled.

However, the amazing fireworks display planned for this evening is still scheduled to take place.

Children's parades have been cancelled due to the rain for Seabrook, Santa Fe and Northfork, officials said.
