La Porte Gun Battle Most Likely Drug Related

La Porte Police have said that a recent home invasion-style gun battle was probably drug related.

La Porte, TX -- It sounds like something left over from the bad old days, that crack fueled haze called the '80's: a late night knock at the door leads to an entry way gun battle. It happened in La Porte just a few days ago and the cops think it was probably drug related.

A little after 1 a.m. on June 23, someone knocked on the door at a house in the 800 block of Willow Creek Drive. At the time the house was occupied by five people -- a husband, wife, adult son, juvenile son and a house guest.

The adult son opened the door, found a shotgun in his face and four dudes standing outside. The guy with the shotgun pushed his way inside. The husband grabbed his piece, a handgun, and started blasting.

The man with the shotgun returned fire. After turning the entryway into the OK Corral, the only two people injured were the people with the guns. The other suspects took off when the shooting started.

The cops were able to catch one of the people who tried to enter the house, and are still looking for the other two. The two guys who got shot were taken to the hospital.

League City PD thinks that the whole thing has the hallmarks of a drug den robbery.
