League City Budget Includes VFD Stipend and Money for New Pumper Truck
The League City budget includes money for a new pumper truck and a stipend for the VFD.

LEAGUE CITY, TX — Life is about to get a lot safer in the Clear Lake area.
The city council of League City unanimously approved an overnight staffing stipend for the volunteer fire department and the purchase of a new pumper truck.
The purchases are part of the city's Fiscal Year 2017 budget, which will take effect on Oct. 1. In addition to funding requests from the VFD, the budget also includes a bond refinance measure that will save the city about $3 million in interest payments.

The council also voted to undertake a comprehensive salary and job-classification study of city employees.
