Police Charged Man With Murder Of Texas City Mom
Texas City Police arrested Mark Anthony Tobar, who is accused in the capital murder of Teresa Custer in December 2018.
TEXAS CITY, TX — A man wanted in connection for the murder of a Texas City woman during an armed robbery was arrested in Houston. Mark Anthony Tobar, 378, was arrested at a laundromat in the 9300 block of Cullen Blvd. on Tuesday night, officials announced in a press release.
Tobar, who is charged with capital murder, is in the Galveston County Jail where he is being held without bond.
Police said Tobar played a role in the brutal murder of Teresa Custer, 37, who was the manager at the Fairfield Inn and Suites on Emmett F. Lowry Expressway.

Custer, who was the mother of three children, had just started the morning shift at her job on Dec. 22, 2018. At about 6:40 a.m. a masked man ran into the lobby and shot Custer before fleeing in a white pickup.

Police arrived at the hotel minutes later and found Custer wounded. She was flown by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, and died the next day.

Police said they are looking for two other suspects. The first suspect is described as a black male, approximately 40 years old, 5 feet 6 to 5 feet 8, and between 160-180 pounds, with a salt and pepper beard.
The second suspect is also described as a black male, approximately 21-25 years old, 5 feet 9 to -5 feet 11, and between 17 and 180 pounds. He is clean shaven and has short hair.
A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest or charges for the two suspects at large.
