Power Restored To Bolivar Customers After Severe Storms

Residents in Bolivar Peninsula were left without power much of the weekend after a round of severe storms, officials said.

BOLIVAR PENINSULA, TX — A band of strong storms that rolled through areas of Houston Saturday left many residents along the coast without power on Sunday. Severe weather moved through the Houston area late last week spawning scattered storms throughout southeast Texas.

Entergy officials who provided periodic updates after the storm, said repair crews encountered significant damage to power lines likely due to the high winds.

Additional crews were brought in, and worked through the nigh to help repair the damaged lines and to restore power, officials announced.

Officials with Entergy said power to hundreds in Bolivar Peninsula had been restored to homes and businesses by 3:30 a.m. Monday.
