Tillman Fertitta has invited the senior class of Santa Fe High School to attend Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals on Thursday night

HOUSTON, TX — Houston Rockets owner and Galveston native Tillman Fertitta has invited the senior class of Santa Fe High School to attend Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals on Thursday night.
The Rockets will host the senior class, along with Santa Fe ISD and first responders, with the Santa Fe High School Choir slated to perform the national anthem.
Santa Fe High School was the site of a mass shooting on May 18 that killed 10 and injured 13.

Teachers went back to the campus on Wednesday, with students expected to return next week.
Fertitta recalled his younger days playing high school football on that field, and he wanted to do something for the kids.

The school sent a letter out to students about the invitation, KPRC reported.
"It is our hope at Santa Fe High School that this will provide our graduating seniors with an evening to gather with friends who have reached the milestone of graduating together," the letter read.
Fertitta said he plans to bring the students and the first responders out on the court, and the team will show a video tribute honoring those killed on Friday.
"We're just trying to do our little bit, that's all," Fertitta told KPRC. "Just trying to make a special day, where 30 years from now they think about going to that Western Conference final game, instead of what they had to go through their last few days of being a senior."
