Tractor Supply Co. considering opening store in Santa Fe.

SANTA FE, TX — It's possible that Santa Fe may have scored coup. It's no secret that Tractor Suppply Co. is looking to open a store in the Bay Area.
Economic development and chamber of commerce types have been trying to woo the largest retail farm and ranch supplier in the U.S. to their particular slice of the Texas Gulf Coast dream for weeks.
Then, without pomp or circumstance, the Santa Fe City Council authorized the city's economic development corporation to reimburse a contractor for expenses related to installing a sewer line.

It's a pretty normal bit of house keeping paperwork, but the fact that Tractor Supply was named as the possible tenant caught the eyes of local political junkies.

The proposed site is in the 13000 block of FM 1764 west of Santa Fe Archery. Of course just because city council approves the expense of running a sewer line out to the location doesn't mean Tractor Supply is going to come to Santa Fe. It could just be that city council is trying to sweeten the deal.
