Texas City Kite Festival Takes Flight Saturday

The Second Annual Texas City Kite Festival will be held Saturday, June 25.

Texas City, TX -- The Second Annual Texas City Kite Festival will be held Saturday, June 25. The event will be at the intersection of Skyline Drive and Dike Road and will run from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The festival will feature single-line kite flying for both adults and children -- as well as kite and tanker surfing and multi-rotor drone racing. There will also be demonstrations from professional kite flyers, some of whom will bring kits that are more than 50-feet wide.

Judges will present awards to both children and adults in various single-line categories, including: most unique kite, largest kite flown, smallest kite flown, highest kite flown and most kites flown at the same time.

To help festival goers beat the heat the organizers will be setting up a free, inflatable misting corridor and a 100-foot by 20-foot shade tent.
