U.S. Army Black Hawks to Fly Over Galveston/Houston on Sept. 7
U.S. Army Black Hawks will fly over the Galveston/Houston area on Sept. 7 as part of the annual Hurricane Ike exercise

GALVESTON, TX — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District is coordinating a flyover from four U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopters on Sept. 7.
The helicopter flight is part of an annual exercise to track the path of Hurricane Ike and view critical infrastructure and areas that could be affected if a hurricane hit the Galveston/Houston area.
One of the flight's highest priorities will be surveying navigable channels and ports in order to quickly regain the Houston-area's full commercial capacity.
