Woman Pleads Guilty To Sex Trafficking In Galveston County
Angela Marks, 24, pleaded guilty and faces a life sentence for sex trafficking several young girls in 2017.

GALVESTON, TX — A 24-year old Sweeny woman has pleaded guilty in Galveston federal court to conspiracy and sex trafficking of children.
U.S. District Judge George C. Hanks accepted the plea from Angela Marks on Wednesday .
Marks was originally charged with nine others as part of a sex trafficking ring prostituted four young girls as young as 16-years old, and advertised on sexually-oriented websites, including the infamous Backpage.com website to attract customers.

In February 2017, Marks forced the girls to pose for provocative photos that Marks took with her phone and used in online advertisements for sex and engaged in commercial sex acts for money.
After customers began responding to advertisements on Backpage.com, Marks would use a computer application to communicate with customers and to monitor the girls during prostitution dates.

Marks told the girls how to conduct prostitution dates and told them much to charge.
During prostitution dates at the Hobby Inn and Stay Express Inn in Houston, Marks would at times hid in the hotel bathroom.
Prosecutors said she collected money from the men who paid to have sex with the girls, and provided condoms, food and drugs to the victims.
Judge George C. Hanks set sentencing for Marks on May 9, 2018, and faces a possible life sentence and a possible $250,000 maximum fine.
