COPPELL, TX -- The City of Coppell has hired a new managing director of its Arts Center. Alex Hargis will officially start Jan. 2 after spending his entire career as a producer, venue manager, and civil servant.
"With over a decade of experience working with non-profits, city governments, and corporations on bridging art and commerce, Alex has developed an obsessive passion for developing engaging content that brings people together," the city said in a news release.
Hargis most recently served as the executive director for the Historic Downtown Plano Association where he worked with local merchants to create cultural programming, the city added. Before that, Hargis helped open the AT&T Performing Arts Center in the Dallas Arts District where he managed the Dee & Charles Wyly Theater and the Center’s event and sales division.
