Don't worry if you can't take a luxurious Spring Break trip; here are some fun things to do this week in Coppell.

COPPELL, TX — While everyone wants to jet set off to the beach on Spring Break, many are destined to stay home during the vacation. But it's not all bad news. There are plenty of events happening in Coppell this week to enjoy.
1. Spring Music Series at Old Town Coppell Square
Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs to sit on the lawn. Food will be available for purchase from gourmet trucks, including Stick Dog, Dapper Doughnut, Easy Slider and Jack’s Chowhound. Free popcorn will be available courtesy of Coppell Parks and Recreation. This event is family-friendly and free. No ticket or advance registration is required. Performances are by "The Wonderfuls!"

2. Spring Break at Hogwarts at Cozby Library
Hogwarts House Cup ChallengeMarch 10 - 16Pick up your three house cup tasks at the Front Desk, complete, and return by Friday, March 16 to be sorted into Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin. Help your house win the House Cup and be honored at the End of Term Feast during the last movie on Saturday, March 17 at 2:00 p.m. Wear your robes or Harry Potter costumes to the Feast! .

3. Fire, Vehicle And Pedestrian Safety Training at Life Safety Park
Take a trip to Life Safety Park for free safety education programs during spring break. From Monday, March 12 through Friday, March 16, LSP will offer a wide range of safety topics for children in kindergarten through 8th grade. The programs will last approximately one and a half hours, and will include an interactive classroom lesson culminating with hands-on learning time outside in the Safety Town.
- Online registration is required
- Bring a government-issued photo ID
- Candid photos may be taken
- Parents are required to stay with their children for this class
4. Open Mic Night At Cozby Library
All acts welcome! Sign up anytime at the Information Desk. This program is open to all ages and any content must be appropriate for all ages. Microphone will be provided. Bring your friends to perform or cheer you on!

5. Zooniversity: Meet Insects and Arachnids
Learn the secrets of the animal underworld. A detailed introduction to arthropod anatomy, behavior, feeding, molting and defensive behaviors. It'll drive you buggy! Ages 5 and up welcome.
