15 Dallas Area Small Business Get A $10,000 Boost from Verizon
Verizon's banking on 15 Dallas-area small businesses — to the tune of a $10,000 grant to each recipient.
DALLAS, TX —Verizon is making good on a promise made during this year's Super Bowl by awarding each of 15 Dallas-area small businesses a small-business grant of $10,000.
That brings their regional award to a total of $150,000, and the grants themselves are part of a larger, $10 million commitment Verizon made to small businesses at the 2021 Super Bowl.
Dallas recipients include Nacre Designs LLC, Pace and Ross Learning Center; 8th & Corinth Food Mart, Chef's Table & Pastry-820; Banks Life LLC, Reelen Inc.; B&M Stark LLC, KEE Concrete and Construction Inc.; Black Coffee, Nepa Auto Repair LLC; MandalaUS LLC, I.S. Productions Inc.; Lunicy Trucking Logistics Company, RFive Legacies LLC and K&L Kennedy Corp.

Over the last few weeks, Verizon worked with the Local Initiatives Support Coalition (LISC) to distribute grants spread across all 50 states and Puerto Rico.

A Verizon statement explained, "In this round, 910 small businesses each received $10,000 Verizon grants that can help them meet payroll, pay rent and cover additional immediate operational needs. Of the 910 grant recipients, 94 percent are owned by people of color (63 percent Black-owned); 80 percent are women-owned; and 87 percent are businesses in low- to moderate-income (LMI) communities."
In addition, Verizon points out that over the last year alone, the company's financial assistance to small businesses came to $7.5 million. "
The company Verizon has also made a commitment to provide a million small businesses with resources to help them thrive in the digital economy through 2030. "All these small-business initiatives align with Verizon’s goal to help move the world forward," they state, "as part of the Citizen Verizon responsible-business plan, which centers on Digital Inclusion, Climate Protection and Human Prosperity."
