First responders are preparing for Fourth of July operations and remind residents that the possession, sale or discharge of fireworks in the City of Fort Worth is illegal.

From July 3-5 last year, officials received over 5,000 calls reporting fireworks and saw a marked increase for the most common calls, which include grass fires, structure fires, trash fires and traumatic injuries.
During the upcoming holiday weekend, the Fort Worth Police Department urges residents and visitors to use one of these methods to report illegal fireworks:
