The Fort Worth Fire Department is gearing up for Fourth of July operations and reminds residents that the possession, sale or discharge of fireworks in the City of Fort Worth is illegal.

Between July 3-5 last year, the department received over 5,000 calls reporting fireworks and saw a marked increase for the most common calls, which include grass fires, structure fires, trash fires and traumatic injuries.

To continue to provide the quickest response possible to emergency calls, FWFD officials ask that residents use the Nonemergency Fireworks Hotline to report fireworks. Call 817-392-4444 or make an online report
