Dog Finds Crafty Way To Beat Summer Heat

Baloo loves his water sprinkler so much that he decided to bring it inside his owner's house.

LAKE DALLAS, TX — As record-breaking temperatures continue to scorch most of Dallas, one dog has found a creative way to beat the heat.

Baloo, who lives in North Texas, loves playing in the water sprinkler — so much, in fact, that he decided to share the joy with his owners.

Cara Wohr snapped a photo of the moment when 5-month-old Baloo decided to take advantage of the doggy door in his house and bring the sprinkler inside.

Wohr said she heard some clanking in the living room but didn't immediately go investigate. But once she heard Baloo barking, she knew something was up.

"The sprinkler is just blowing," Wohr told Patch. "My TV was getting wet on the other side of the room. I had to act really quickly and throw it out the doggy door."

Thankfully Wohr took a moment to snap a photo of Baloo's shenanigans before banishing the sprinkler from the living room.

Since it was posted on Wednesday, the photo has been shared more than 113,000 times and has racked up some 22,000 reactions and comments. (Subscribe to your local Patch for breaking news alerts and daily digests of the most important news stories in your area.)

Although nobody wants a soaking wet house, Wohr took the incident with a grain of salt, writing, "good thing I was wearing waterproof mascara."

Baloo loves playing in the sprinkler, as evidenced by a video Wohr shared a month ago on Facebook. In the video, the pup can be seen biting the water while at the family's ranch in Forestburg, some 85 miles northwest of Dallas.

Wohr said Baloo loves water in all forms and will gladly hop in a swimming pool or take a turn on a water slide.

"He's a crazy dog, loves the water," she said.
