The organization determined it ranking by comparing the profiles of more than 500 of the largest cities across five diversity categories: socioeconomic, cultural, economic, household and religious, WalletHub said in a news release.

The most diverse city in America was Houston followed by Jersey City, New Jersey. The least diverse cities were Provo, Utah, and Bangor, Maine.

The ranking was created using data from U.S. Census Bureau and ARDA, WalletHub stated.
