Frisco Named The Best Place To Live In America

FRISCO, TX — Frisco edged out more than 500 communities to top MONEY Magazine's "Best Places to Live in America" list. The city, which has a population of 179,000 and a median family income of $129,000, takes particular pride in the Frisco Independent School District, which had "the highest graduation rate of all the cities and towns MONEY evaluated this year," the magazine stated in its write up.

MONEY narrowed down its list of communities by first looking at those with populations of 50,000 or greater and eliminating those with double the national crime risk. Communities lacking diversity were also eliminated. The result was 583 communities.

Working with Realtor.com, MONEY Magazine then ranked communities by cost of living (based on tax burden, insurance costs, commuting costs), education (math and reading test scores), and amenities (number of doctors and hospitals in the area and number of leisure activities in the town), among other criteria, MONEY stated.

Frisco has a 98 percent high school graduation rate and a projected job growth rate of 15 percent between now and 2022, MONEY reported.

The only other Texas town to make the top 50 was Flower Mound, also in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
