Humane Society Puts 200 Longhorns Up For Adoption
The longhorns were seized by the Hill County Sheriff's Department and are now ready to be re-homed.

FORT WORTH, TX — Some 200 longhorns rescued in Hill County are now up for adoption, the Humane Society of North Texas announced Monday.
The herd includes approximately 20 bulls, 13 steers, 63 heifers, 87 cows and 29 calves which all appear to be of the longhorn or longhorn-cross breed. The Humane Society said none of the cattle are registered or guaranteed to be pure-bred.
Approximately 50 head of cattle are available to be viewed at the Humane Society's ranch in Joshua, Texas.

- HSNT intends to only adopt the cattle to individuals who agree to keep the animals for the remainder of their natural lives and not sell the cattle for slaughter.
- Adoption fees for each animal are based on approximate “market” value to discourage adopters from selling any animal for profit or slaughter.
- All adopters must complete a Longhorn/Longhorn Cross Adoption Application.
- Completed Longhorn/Longhorn Cross Adoption Applications must be emailed to livestock@hsnt.org.
- Adoption Applications will be processed in the order received.
