It's Not Too Late To Enroll Your Child In Dallas Summer Camps

Deadlines are fast approaching for this season's summer camps across Dallas. There are multiple options and locations across the metroplex.

DALLAS, TX —There's still time this summer to help your child grow intellectually while developing social skills that could last a lifetime. Have a look at what might ignite your kid's imagination.

The School of YES! Summer Camp

This Summer Camp is a multidisciplinary arts academy for youth, whose mission is to give young people the proper skills to say “yes” to a future of their choice rather than feel pressured into a future defined by their environment.

Oak Cliff Cultural Center and Cara Mía Theatre will be awarding 50 scholarships to the program. Twenty students ages 7-10, twenty students ages 11-14, and ten students ages 15-18 will be accepted.

Those applications may also be printed and dropped off at Oak Cliff Cultural Center, which is open Tuesday through Saturday. The deadline for applications is Wednesday, June 16. See the website for more details.

Run With the PACK and Circo Metropolis Caravan

This season, the Bath House Cultural Center is hosting two summer camps, although space is limited for each. Separate applications are required if your kids are interested in participating in both camps.

One, Run with the PACK, is a free immersive hands-on public mural camp for underserved teens,12-16 years old being conducted from June 28 to July 9. The other is a free circus camp called Circo Metropolis Carvan, and it teaches kids basic circus skills. That camp runs from July 12 to 23, 2021. The deadline for applications is Friday, June 18. The South Dallas Cultural Center

There are four Summer Arts Camps at the SDCC this summer. Space for each camp is limited.

The Smart Project camp offers creative lesson plans focusing on photography, creative writing, drawing, graphic design and animation as well as providing one-on-one creative mentorship opportunities. Camp dates are June 14th – July 21st on Thursdays from 3:00-4:40 pm, and Friday from 3:00-4:00 pm.

Hip Hop and Heal is a camp that builds its lessons around the 12 Stages of Healing, cultivating a way of using the art of written expression, deep breathing exercises, art, media, and performing arts to express themselves.
Camp dates are June 14th – July 21st on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00-5:00PM
African Drum and Dance is a camp that consist of traditions, history, music and dances from West Africa taught by rotating Bandan Koro artists.
Camp dates are June 14th – July 21st from 10:00am – Noon (Grades 5-8) and from 1:00 – 3:00PM (Grades 9-12th)
Musically Me Unlimited (Girls Only) is a fiscally sponsored life skills and empowerment program that uses music to build community and foster resilience in the lives of Black teen girls. The deadline to apply is Friday, June 18. For more information, see the website.
