Loosen Your Belt, Dallas: Here Comes The Gut-Bomb Bojangles Chain

Those sinful slabs of fried decadence tasty enough to make Col. Sanders drool are headed for Texas. Just try losing your lockdown lbs. now.

DALLAS,TX — What mid-Atlantic visit was ever complete without a visit to Bojangles, the only fried chicken chain to scare the feathers off Popeyes and the Colonel off a bucket of chicken? Well, now you won't have to board a plane to get you up some.

What is it about that place? Is it the Southern Gravy Biscuit? The Chicken Tenders? The über-decadent Bo-Berry Buscuit? There's something in this stuff that drives fast-food lovers wild.

And now Bojangles will be tempting you from the freeway rather than 20,000 feet, since the chain has announced plans to open more than a dozen of its corporately-owned restaurants around the metroplex starting as soon as the first quarter of next year.

For many grab-and-go connoisseurs, Bojangles is to the Chesapeake what White Castle is to New York and In-N-Out Burger once was to California. It's the Cadillac of fast and fresh fried food.

They're of course most famous for their fried chicken and juicy chicken sandwiches, but it's hard to find someone who won't bust a diet for any one of their signature treats — from their sweet potato pies to their piping hot Bo-Tato rounds.

The chain is in the middle of a growth spurt, and like other fast food international success stories before them, they're spreading like a grease fire out of their home base in North Carolina. New stores and franchises are set to debut as far south as Orlando, Florida and as far inland as Columbus, Ohio.

The North Carolina-based chain is quickly growing. In the past few months, it has signed expansion agreements to open up new stores in both Columbus, Ohio and Orlando, Florida.
