Panther Pavillion Is A Post-Pandemic Playground for North Texans

Tubing is back!! It's time to grab your cutoffs and a six pack of your favorite suds for a day of floating and relaxing in the Texas sun!!

DALLAS, TX — There's no more relaxing summertime tradition than hopping into the water with an inner tube, a six pack and nothing but Mother Nature and the sounds you love to keep you company.

As a kid, it seemed as though there was always someone older there to show you the ropes — who to invite, who to put in charge of the music, how to navigate the water and what to watch out for. For a young son (or daughter) of the Lone Star State, tubing is practically a rite of passage.

All of that disappeared last year, when no one dared get within a country mile of a stranger during the great pandemic. But, just as the rivers continue to flow, life does eventually move on, and this year you and your cutoffs are once again welcome in the wild — with friends in tow.

And, if you don't mind a little organizational help putting together your trip, you can hitch your tube to the return of Rockin' the River at Panther Island Pavilion. It's a ready-made ride that combines tubing with bands, brews and fireworks already in the mix.

A Texas-sized lineup, including five bands and a fireworks show are scheduled each Saturday from July 3 through Aug. 7 to continue what has become a Fort Worth summer staple along the Trinity River.

Noted as one of the “7 Best Places to Go Tubing this Summer,” the Trinity River will be the center of the river party for guests to grab a cold Coors Light and hit the shore or water to watch live bands from Texas’ only waterfront stage.

The fun kicks off this weekend with five favorite local groups, including Jonathan Tyler, Carson Jeffrey, Dylan Wheeler, Kenny Feidler, and Corina Grove. Each Saturday offers free admission to the same refreshing trip with a brand-new lineup at one of Fort Worth's favorite festivals of the year.

So grab your friends and don’t miss out on the six-Saturday tubing & music series. For the complete rundown, you can visit www.rockintheriverfw.com.
