Petition Proposes Highway Named After Dirk Nowitzki
A change.org petition proposing a Nowitzki Highway has gained traction.

A petition to have a roadway named after Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki has collected more than 775 digital signatures as of Thursday evening. The petition was started April 9 and calls on the Texas Department of Transportation and Dallas leaders to "honor one of the best professional athletes in the NBA or who has ever played a professional sport in the DFW area."
Nowitzki played his last home game for the Mavericks this week after 21 years spent with the team. The German center was honored Tuesday by the likes of NBA legends Charles Barkley, Scottie Pippin, and Larry Bird who all visited the American Airlines Center.
Nowitzki finishes sixth on the NBA's all-time scoring list. He is also a 14-time NBA All-Star and led the Mavericks to a championship in 2011, its first.
