Plane Crash Kills One In Wise County: Report

The pilot of the single-engine plane died in the Thursday afternoon crash. He was the only passenger in the plane.

WISE COUNTY, TX — One man was pronounced dead Thursday afternoon after his single-engine plane went down in Wise County, various news outlets report.

The pilot, 86-year-old Dominick Pellegreno of Rhome, was the sole passenger in the plane at the time of the crash. The Dallas Morning News reports the crash happened near FM 407 near New Fairview.

The plane was identified by Texas Department of Public Safety officials as a 1936 Rose Parrakeet A-1, a small, fixed-wing aircraft, KXAS reported.
