Real North Texas Businesses Have Bank Accounts Frozen In Federal Push To Find COVID-19 Fraudsters

Legitimate North Texas businesses are being swept up in a federal crackdown on pandemic relief fraud, the CBS 11 I-Team has found.

Several small business owners and independent contractors have had their bank accounts frozen after receiving federal Covid-19 relief funding.

“All of my money has been frozen,” said Justin Garrett, a home health care worker in Dallas. “Without my money, I’m unable to pay any of my bills. I’ve actually even had to pawn my watch just to buy gas. It’s terrible. It really is.”
