Texas Ranked As The 12th Best State Economy
At the bottom of the list were Alaska, Louisiana, and Mississippi.

Texas has been ranked as the 12th best economy in the U.S. according to a new report from personal finance website WalletHub. The organization compared the 50 states and Washington, D.C, across 28 indicators of economic performance and strength, including GDP growth, startup activity, and share of jobs in high-tech industries, WalletHub said in a news release.
Texas was ranked behind Arizona and ahead of Michigan. The top states were Washington, Utah, and Massachusetts. At the bottom of the list were Alaska, Louisiana, and Mississippi.
Texas was also tied for the most exports per capita.

- 8th – Startup Activity
- 21st – % of Jobs in High-Tech Industries
- 14th – Annual Median Household Income
- 9th – Change in Nonfarm Payrolls
- 30th – Government Surplus/Deficit per Capita
- 22nd – Unemployment Rate
