Texas was ranked as the 40th worst state for working dads in the U.S. according to a new report from personal finance website WalletHub. The organization compared the 50 U.S. states and Washington, D.C., across 22 indicators of friendliness toward working dads; including average length of work day, males to child-care costs, and share of men in good or better health, WalletHub said in a news release.

The best states were Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Jersey. Texas was ranked behind Arizona and ahead of Oklahoma. The worst states were Louisiana, New Mexico, and Mississippi.

The report was sourced from the U.S. Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics, National Center for Education Statistics, National Partnership for Women & Families, Institute for Women's Policy Research, and Child Care Aware of America, among other places.
