Dallas Water Conservation in collaboration with Texas A&M AgriLife Water University presents a series of free courses designed to help the home gardener level up their yard.

First, learn how to grow an edible landscape with plants that offer color and can be added to the dinner table. You’ll learn how herbs, fruits, and vegetables can add to the colors of your landscape combine aesthetics and functionality with the “Foodscaping” Course scheduled from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2020.

Next, maximize your sprinkler system and save money with the “DIY Drip Irrigation Course.” The course will teach you how to install, convert and maintain a drip irrigation system. It’s the perfect course to help you get your yard right ahead of Spring. Drip irrigation is the most efficient irrigation method for landscape beds, potted plants, vegetable gardens or home foundations. This course is scheduled from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 7 2020.

Then, check out the “Saving FROM a Rainy Day: “DIY Rain Barrel” class. Participants in this course will learn how to collect rainwater for use at home. There is a $50 fee assessed to cover materials as participants will be able to take home a modified rain barrel.
