1 Dead In Northeast Austin After Firefighters Battle Two Fires

Austin firefighters responded to two structure fires early Friday, one in Southeast Austin and a deadly blaze in Northeast Austin.

AUSTIN, TX — One person is dead after Austin firefighters responded to two building fires early Friday, officials said.

Austin-Travis County EMS said around 4:21 a.m. one person was pronounced dead at a home in the 12000 block of Little Fatima Lane in Northeast Austin. The person's identity has yet to be released.

Austin Fire said around 4:13 a.m. Friday it was responding to two structure fires, one at a gas station at the intersection of East Oltorf Street and Willow Creek Drive in Southeast Austin and the home at Little Fatima Lane.

Fire officials said the exterior fire at the gas station expanded inside the building. No other information was available around 9 a.m.

Both fires in Austin were within 15 miles of each other, according to Google maps.
