2 Women In Critical Condition After 6th Street Shooting

Two women are in critical condition after a Monday morning shooting on Sixth Street, police said.

AUSTIN, TX — Two women are in critical condition after a Monday morning shooting on Sixth Street, police said.

Police received a 911 call at 2:04 a.m. Monday for a multiple shots fired in the 400 block of East Sixth Street, near Trinity Street, officials said Tuesday.

At that time, large crowds of people were in the immediate area. Officers located two women who had sustained gunshot wounds and were injured.

Officers immediately began performing life-saving measures on both victims. Austin-Travis County EMS took the two women to local hospitals.

Authorities said several witnesses have been interviewed and the investigation is ongoing. A suspect is not in custody at this time.

The location of the shooting occurred in the same block of last month's mass shooting, officials said.
