Austin Celebrates Small Business Week With Virtual Trainings
The City to host a series of no-cost educational trainings and events for local businesses, creatives, and non-profits throughout the week.
AUSTIN, TX—As Small Business Week approaches, the City of Austin Economic Development Department is set to host virtual a series of educational events and training for local businesses, creatives, and non-profits. The no-cost training sessions and events will focus on a range of topics including: strategic pricing, business taxes, business structure development, funding, marketing, and one-on-one business coaching experts in their respective fields.
“We recognize that small businesses across all industries are working hard to rebound and build up capacity,” explains Sylnovia Holt-Rabb, Acting Director for the Economic Development Department. “By providing these no-cost training opportunities, our aim is to provide inclusive support to all business sectors. We will continue to grow the Austin economy by providing tools and information needed to sustain these businesses.”
Small Business Week, May 3-May 7, 2021, is an annual recognition event for small business owners across the country to promote their impact on the communities they serve. The City of Austin will kick off the week with the State of Small Business in Austin, a discussion with economist Jon Hockenyos, President of TXP, Inc on Monday, May 3rd at 10:00 a.m. The Small Business Awards will follow honoring local businesses who pivoted successfully during COVID-19 and featuring a panel discussion with three of the honorees.
