Austin Community College Schedules Key Events In September

Even while campuses are stilled and in-person gatherings have given way to virtual versions, the college district has myriad events planned.

AUSTIN, TX — Even as campuses have been stilled in the midst of the coronavirus with in-person gatherings increasingly replaced with virtual meetings, the Austin Community College District has scheduled a number of key events this month.

Myriad events are occurring from Sept. 14-20. Events include:

  • The board of trustees hosts its regular meeting 3:15 p.m., Monday, Sept. 14. The virtual meeting is accessible to community members via live webstream.
  • Prior to the regular board meeting, the Austin Community College district is slated to host a public hearing on the proposed property tax rate 3 p.m. Members of the public may sign up to speak in-person or virtually.
  • The college district will host a live, virtual sneak peek to take the community inside Phase 2, 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 16. The event will feature the college district's new Culinary Arts facilities, Health Sciences simulation labs, Manufacturing Incubator, and Radio, Television, and Film studios.   • Third annual ACC International Festival. Students, faculty and their families are invited to participate in a day of virtual celebration on Tuesday, Sept. 15. Events run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The events include exhibitors from ACC and the community, music by Mariachi Margaritas, influential films, and performances.
