Austin Community Invited To Help Beautify Shoal Creek

Austin to Parks Foundation and Shoal Creek Conservancy team up with Cirrus Logic and the ATX community to improve area along Shoal Creek.

AUSTIN, TX—Join Austin Parks Foundation and Shoal Creek Conservancy as they team up with Cirrus Logic and the Austin community to remove litter and debris from the creek and clear sediment from the trail along Shoal Creek. Volunteers will gather at Duncan Park located at 900 W. 9th St., Austin, TX 78701 at. 9 a.m., and will proceed to various project sites following orientation.

Volunteer and team members will work to beautify the creek, and to improve visibility and accessibility for creek visitors. It's My Park Day will be held Saturday, June 12 from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m., and all ages are welcome to participate. Volunteers are asked to bring a mask and water, as well as wear close-toed shoes, long pants, and sun protection. This event is open to limited capacity, and volunteers are asked to register only if certain they are able to attend. The following safety guidelines will be in place to ensure the health and wellness of all in attendance.

  • Volunteers are REQUIRED to register via GivePulse
  • Tools will be assigned to individual volunteers and will not be shared
  • Tools will be sanitized after every project and stored separately for at least 72 hours
  • Social Distancing practices will be maintained throughout the project
  • Volunteers must wear a mask and bring their own water and snacks
  • Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own hand sanitizer and gloves
  • The following people should remain home and cancel registration if applicable:
    • Immunocompromised or at-risk individuals
    • Anyone who has been exposed to someone that tested positive
    • Anyone who is following direct recommendation from their health-care provide to self-quarantine.
