Austin ISD Closure Extended Until April 13
The closure was extended due to the shelter-in-place orders for Austin and Travis County. School had initially been closed until April 3.
AUSTIN, TX — The Austin Independent School District will be closed until April 13, extending the district's closure by 10 days following the shelter-in-place orders issued by Austin and Travis County officials.
"In response to the Stay Home - Work Safe Order issued by the City of Austin and Travis county, AISD schools are closed through April 13," Superintendent Paul Cruz wrote in a letter to the school district community. "Even though our schools are not open, we will facilitate continuous learning opportunities for our students. Austin ISD staff and families should prepare for schools to be closed for a longer period of time."
