Celebrate National Trail Day In Austin On The VCT With REI
The Hill Country Conservancy and REI will host the event welcoming walkers and runners to participate in their 5k Fun Run And 1 mile walk.

AUSTIN, TX—Hill Country Conservancy and REI invite you to celebrate National Trails Day 2021 with a fun run on the Violet Crown Trail (VCT) in Austin! National Trails Day (NTD) is observed nationwide with events encouraging communities to explore their local trails and discover the thrill of spending time outdoors.
This year's event on the VCT will raise proceeds to benefit the area's trail and efforts to keep it safe and clean for the community to enjoy. Scheduled Saturday, June 5 from 8 p.m. - 1 p.m. at Dick Nichols Park located at 8011 Beckett Austin, TX 78749, the third annual event encourages participants to take part in a 5k or 1 mile run. Route begins at Dick Nichols Park, and follows the VTC from Latta Dr. to Davis Ln., and showcased the interconnectivity of the trial with the various neighborhoods, wooded areas, urban spaces, and neighborhood parks.

Come out to the trail on June 5 anytime between 8 a.m. - 1 p.m., and the HCC team will be on hand to cheer you on as you make your way to the finish line!
