City Of Austin's Urban Forestry Hosts Wood Reclamation Event
Community members interested in large logs for art projects or tilling are invited to John Trevino, Jr. Metro Park to pick up and haul wood.
AUSTIN, TX—The Austin Parks and Recreation Urban Forestry Unit invites Austin area residents to take part in a reclaimed log pickup for community members wanting large logs for art projects or milling.
Austin’s urban forest provides millions of dollars annually in social, economic, and environmental benefits to the community and enhances the quality of life for Austin residents. The community's tree resource is an integral part of what makes Austin one of the most attractive cities in the country. As the city continues to grow and develop the urban forest remains an integral part of the Austin landscape, quietly performing as one of our most invaluable community members and infrastructure components.
The wood reclamation event will be held Friday, June 4 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. at John Trevino Jr. Metro Park located at 9501 FM 969, Austin, TX 78724 Google Maps
