Foot of Snow Possible for Chelmsford

Happy first day of spring everybody.

CHELMSFORD, MA- It looks like residents of Chelmsford will be spending the first few days of spring defrosting their cars and trudging through the snow.

The National Weather Service predicted a minimum of three inches and maximum of 14 inches of snow for the Chelmsford area.

The snow is expected to start Sunday night and continue into Monday.

NWS issued this hazardous weather alert:

LOW PRESSURE DEVELOPING OFF THE EAST COAST SUNDAY INTO MONDAY MAY PRODUCE MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW. THERE IS STILL UNCERTAINTY IN THE TRACK OF THIS SYSTEM. IF IT TRACKS ALONG THE COAST THE PROBABILITY OF HEAVY SNOW WILL INCREASE...IF IT TRACKS FURTHER OFFSHORE LESS SNOW WILL OCCUR. YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER STATEMENTS AND FORECASTS FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE REGARDING THE POTENTIAL IMPACTS FROM THIS STORM SYSTEM.
