Gas Leak Closes Portion Of SH 71, Prompts Traffic Detours
The gas leak closed eastbound SH 71 between U.S. 183 and Spirit of Texas Drive, officials with the Texas Department of Transportation said.
AUSTIN, TX — Traffic has been detoured due to a gas leak at a key artery, transportation officials said Wednesday.
The gas leak has closed eastbound SH 71 between U.S. 183 and Spirit of Texas Drive, officials with the Texas Department of Transportation wrote on Twitter just after noon. Transportation officials suggested drivers detour south on 183 Burleson Road or FM 812 to reach FM 973 in returning to SH 71.
It's unclear when the roadway might be reopened. Patch will update when more details are known.
