AUSTIN, TX—Popular Austin-based Tex-Mex restaurant, Trudy's, has unveiled a new look with a rebranding set to be displayed at the reopening South Star location. Part of the new branding will also include a new program, Women of Trudy's, designed to recognize ten local women serving the community in a broad range of disciplines, including AISD executive director of food service and warehouse operations, Anneliese Tanner; welder, Mary Jo Emrick; nurse and president of the EMS Association, Selena Xie; AISD teacher of the year, Lisa Richardson; family photographer, Keelyn Costello; and Mi Casa es Tu Casa owner, Laura Bruce.

These women reflect the new Trudy's brand that demonstrate deep caring for their family, friends and the Texas community, and find joy in each day. They will be honored at the opening reception at South Star, and will have their portraits hand-painted and featured at the restaurant near the entrance. Through the revitalization efforts and the new program, CEO and Owner Dan Smith set out to enhance the brand's legacy for generations to come. Smith is at the helm of renovating three current locations, as well as revamping some of the restaurant's menu items, but keeping fan favorites for all to enjoy!

“Trudy’s is one of Austin’s iconic concepts that make up the fabric of our community,” local CEO and owner, Dan Smith said in a press release. “It’s an exciting place with great food and big drinks made from excellent ingredients. People can come any day of the week and expect a fun fiesta atmosphere. It’s such an honor to be involved with these restaurants and make sure Trudy’s remains a long-standing part of our city. I truly believe in retaining the legacy of the brand while breathing new life into the restaurants.”
