Microhomes Community In Austin Offers Affordable Living
Casata has begun construction on a 6-acre site in South Austin, with one and two-bedroom microhomes available and ready for move in July 1.
AUSTIN, TX—As one of the hottest housing markets in the nation, typical Austin home values as of 2021 are nearing $500,000, and real estate forecasts indicate things aren't slowing down. While the current housing boom is a golden opportunity for sellers and investors, residents looking for affordable housing are finding they have their work cut out for them.
Austin startup, Casata, brings the tiny house movement to South Austin as an alternative, and will offer affordable microhomes available for rent. Construction has begun on a 6-acre site located at 10400 Old Manchaca Rd., and will feature 66 microhomes featuring one and two bedroom floor plans, with monthly rent ranging from $1,200 for the smallest microhome to $1,480 for the largest microhome.
“The Casata concept is an innovative approach to housing for millennials,” Aaron Levy, CEO of Casata, says in a March 29 release. “Microhomes are a great option for millennials who are less worried about material items and more focused on experiences. Casata offers competitive rent rates while providing an incredible living situation.”
