Multiday Virtual Festival Celebrates Women In The Arts

The ESB-MACC hosts the 10th annual fest online to spotlight women (mujeres) who inspire and make an impact in the Austin arts community.

AUSTIN, TX—The community is invited to a virtual celebration of women in the arts from the comfort of home. The Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center proudly announces the lineup for the annual celebration, La Mujer: A Celebration of Womxn to broadcast live on various social media platforms and online for all to enjoy.

The virtual celebration to spotlight the accomplishments of "mujeres" or women who inspire, and is scheduled Wednesday, April 21 through Saturday, April 24 and is in its 10th year in Austin. The multi-disciplinary digital festival will span over several days and include:

  • a musical performance by 2020 Latin Grammy Nominee Gina Chavez with her full band
  • a film screening by Cine Las Americas
  • panel discussions hosted by Chingona Fest Texas and Latino Studies at UT
  • a virtual exhibit curated by The Projecto’s Coka Trevino
  • PLUS a stellar lineup of other musicians, poets, painters, and visual artists
